Keys to Great Parenting: Part 2

By: Ian D Wright

A Superior parent begins being involved with their kid's lives. Our hectic lives are filled with business, career, and other work related things. Given this, they may forget to spend enough time with their children.

Effective parents choose to give their children enough bonding time. A mother shares her experiences about her two children. During her hectic schedule, she managed to prepare breakfast for her children in the morning, and in the evening after her work, she makes the decision to have a talk with them about their homework.

There are instances when her kids' do their work at the same time, and she can see the look in their faces to do it together. In this manner, she is actively becoming involved herself in her children's lives.

Parents need to include themselves in their child's hobbies. In this manner, they will demonstrate to the children that they are also interested in their hobbies. In kindergarten, for instance, administrators and instructors do have their parent day activity every year.

They have different sports and other hobbies where all the members of the family get to participate and do things together. You should also have some story telling activities (not simply typical bedtime stories) especially on your days off when you have no work.

Attempt to empty yourself of bundled or unimportant appointments that make your life much too busy with things in relation to your work. Be conscious that making your children to perform other activities without you by their side does not help to improve their awareness and responsibility; instead, you are robbing them of the most important thing: your undivided time and attention.

Parents should take the chances of creating something for their kid to demonstrate to them their love. For instance, a parent may prepare food for their kid for mealtimes like breakfast, lunch or dinner. This may be a rare time when a family get together and parents can initiate in sharing many stories that happened at some point.

There is faultless parent, but there are perfect events that we can tell to our children. So, get involved in your children's lives, do not wait for horrible things to happen that have us saying: "It's too late; I was never there".
